Case Studies

Housing 21 Project in “The Wirral”

We have recently completed a major project in conjunction with Mitie Engineering Limited and Cruden Construction. The contract worth circa £50,000 was designed, installed and commissioned by Steve Goben (Fire Safety) Ltd and was completed on schedule.

The contract was included a “Warden Control” dwelling with 42 accommodations and various facilities. Of particular interest on this project was the cause and effect we designed controlling the evacuation of the premises in the event of a fire.

Alston’s Cabinets Ltd

As one of the largest cabinet makers in Europe, Alston’s have to be well equipped to deal with potential fires in combustible materials.

Their extensive dust extraction and filtration system is an essential part of their manufacturing process and a fire in the system would have a major impact on production.

To reduce this risk significantly, Alston’s asked us to install a MINIMAX spark detection system with detector and extinguishing nozzles attached to each extract duct on the system.

“We now have peace of mind and full confidence in the system” says Mr Gerry Clarke the production manager.

Armitage Venesta

The installation of a new extract and filter system on their plant required protection against potential fires occurring internally in the duct and subsequently passing along to the filter “bag house”.

The solution to the problem was a gas suppression system, designed and installed by Steve Goben (Fire Safety) Ltd giving full cover to the duct and filters without causing any unnecessary damage should the system discharge its extinguishant.
